Decoratin' Cookies

For just about every holiday of the year we end up decoratin' cookies for a fun weekend activity-and even though it is not even October we did Halloween ones. Pacey takes this very seriously and takes about 15 minutes on each cookie-so I end up frosting most of them so we are not doing it all might long! This was Tenley's first time doing and she thought that she was supposed to frost her mouth-weird huh.

Conversations with Tenley

I have put a couple of my conversations with Pacey on here so I thought that I would do one of me and Tenley's:
Tenley-"Mommy wa dat?"
Me-"a book"
Tenley-"book"
Me-"Mommy wa dat?"
Me-"its a book"
Tenley-"Mommy, mommy, mommy, book wa dat?"
Me-"Tenley it is a book you just said it"
Tenley-"book"
Me-"Yes book, good girl"
Tenley-"Mommy wa dat"

Then you could continue you this on for like 853 times and you would get my day with Tenley minus naps and when Pacey gets home from school. AWESOME!!

30 Years

Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the DATC-they had a big party and we all went. My dad has been running that school as the President for over 14 years-and doing it well. I am very proud that he is my dad,he has so much respect with everyone that he knows. So congrats dad for being an awesome influence for all of the people that you know-we all love you.(Mom you will have to open this for dad if you want-we all know he doesn't know how to use a computer)

Nie Nie

So I have spent the whole morning reading about Nie. I have gone to her blog a couple of times and thought the she was an amazing person and an amazing mom-I heard all about the accident a while back and felt so bad for her. Today I decided I would read her sisters blog and I have been crying non stop for the last hour and a half. Firstly, I am so amazed at her family, her sisters are so strong and so great, I am sure that Nie and her husband and comforted in the fact that they have such a great family that they know that their kids are safe. Second, it makes you feel that there is still so much good in the world people that do not even know her have come to her help and have raised over 100,000 dollars and prayed for her in probably too many religions to count. It just makes you sit back and think that your issues are never as bad as you think-it also makes you think that even if you do have your problems there will always be someone there to help you up, I have found huge comfort thinking if anything ever happened to me that I have an amazing family that I know would step in and do all that they had to do in my time of need. I just hope that one day I can be as strong in all of my convictions as they are be and try te be a better person each day.

My kid is delusional

I can admit it some times I am a bit of an over-achiever, but now I have made my child a little on the delusional side. The other night we were talking about what he wanted to be for Halloween and he says to me
"I want to be shockwave from the Transformers"
I said "Well I don't think that I can make that costume"
He says "I have a little action figure of him that you can use for reference"
I guess that I should feel flattered that he thinks that I can do anything but I think that I am setting a presidence that his future wife is not going to want to follow

More Canning

So my garden overfloweth and I felt guilt that some of my vegetables might go bad so I set my mind to canning. This time I did Zucchini salsa-that is amazing, pickled peppers, green pepper jelly, and then canned all the tomatoes that I could find in my garden-I would reccomend having two people for this job. It is so long and hard but it is so worth it and I love to get all the use out my garden that I can!(I love how the pics look like I am taking this to my sick granny)

Paceys big Carnival

So on Saturday it was Paceys big party-this year we decided to do a Carnival and it turned out really cool. We set up a couple of games including: A duck pond, a dart throw, and the now infamous pie throw. The pie throw was hilarious the kids were having the greatest time throwing the pies and then they decided that it would be fun to get the pie thrown at them-it was so cute all the kids were laughing and they had a really great time-I am really happy that it is over though.

My big huge 7 year old

Today is my Paceys 7th birthday and I can not believe it! He is the best little kid that I know and I want to tell him on his birth day that I love him and I am so proud of what a good kid he is. I figured that I could do the 6 facts about him that everyone does on their blog:
1. He is the best little brother that I know he is always aware of what Tenley needs and wants and is always willing to help her with it.
2. He is very aware of people and their feelings-he always knows when I am having a bad day and is extra good for me.
3. He remembers everything-we will be talking about something and he will tell us that we have one of the facts wrong and he will be right, he also remembers every store that he got a toy from.
4. He has the craziest fingers they bend in like eight different places they look really crazy.
5. He is so smart-He already knows all the words that he is supposed to be studying for the whole year at school.
6. He is a great artist he loves to paint and draw-that is the main reason that I put him into the art school because he loves it so much.

I love you Pacey and I am proud every day that you are mine-HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Shoes Shoes Shoes

I could buy Tenley every toy on the toy aisle she might play with them for a minute, but her true love is shoes. If I leave her closet open I can expect to find every pair of her shoes out and her trying them on for hours. I really have no idea where she gets a shoe obsession(Megan and Brittany I need no comments from you on this). It is really funny though at 18 months she already knows that I like things clean so each time I go in her room and find the pile of shoes she thinks that she is going to get in trouble so she does her cheese ball smile so that I won't get mad at her-Man I love that little girl!!!!

I have a gripe

So I have a small gripe that I need to get off my chest I was at the store the other day and a woman who had a little girl about the same age as Tenley walked by and this little girl had a full head of hair that looked like she had slept on it for about a week and a half. Don't get me wrong I know that kids have a mind of their own and probably that little girl won't let her mom touch her hair with a ten foot pole-but this where my gripe comes in. My little girl that I want so badly to do her hair insists on not growing it!!! At this point I don't think she is going to have hair until her seventh birthday. Is it wrong to put rogaine on kids hair-if so what about the Ronco hair in a can spray---umm that sounds pretty.
